Mechanical workshop
The mechanical workshop is a service group of the division “infrastructure & analytics” of the Institute for Nuclear Waste Disposal. The group is interlocked with the service group “Control Area and System Operation Management” (see Control Area And System Operation Managment). The Workshop is responsible for the fabrication of individual parts and custom-built models. We accompany our staff or our customers from the engineering detail drawings to the final construction of the work piece. Our clients are mostly the scientific groups of the institute. Our range of services includes the modification and repairing of existing work pieces, the handling of granite, clay and salt samples for diffusion experiments as well as numerous different services.
